Rogan is a dark red Field Golden Retriever and is fully registered with the AKC under the name Rogan of Rolling Acres. His date of birth is Nov 2, 2016, and his adult weight is approximately 75 lbs. On his last vet visit he scored a Body Condition Score (BCS) of 5 (ideal weight/body condition) on a scale of 1 to 9. His official Orthopedic Foundation for Animals (OFA) health screening will include hip, elbow, eyes, and heart. Unfortunately, the Covid-19 situation has created quite a delay in being able to get these accomplished, so these tests will be done over the course of the next few months. We will update the results on this page as we get them. We have also posted his pedigree if you're interested. In the meantime, check out his pictures below!
*** UPDATE *** We have received the results for Rogan's genetic screening. He was evaluated for seven genetic disorders common to Golden Retrievers, and and we are happy to report he is completely clear of any of these disorders and does not carry any genetic abnormalities that can be passed to any offspring! The list of tests (DM, GR-PRA1, GR-PRA2, Ich, MD, NCL-GR, PRA-prcd) are on the Animal Genetics website with full explanations of each at the bottom of the page.
Ruby is a dark red Field Golden Retriever and is fully registered with the AKC name Rolling Acres' Little Precious Ruby. She was born on June 28, 2019, and has an adult weight of approximately 50 lbs. She also scored a 5 (ideal weight/body condition) on her last vet visit. Her OFA certification will be complete once she turns two years old, but we have added her pedigree so you can look up the health results and AKC registration number of any dog in her breeding line. Using the AKC registration number you may use the OFA website to find the most updated health certifications for a particular dog (not all certifications are on the pedigree due to space limitations). In the meantime, check out her pictures below!
*** UPDATE *** We have received the results for Ruby's genetic screening. She was evaluated for the same seven genetic disorders common to Golden Retrievers as Rogan (DM, GR-PRA1, GR-PRA2, Ich, MD, NCL-GR, PRA-prcd), and we are happy to report she is clear of any of these disorders! She is a carrier for PRA-prcd which means she carries a mutated gene related to her eyes, but as a carrier only, she will not develop the disorder. In order for a dog to be affected by the disease, it must inherit two of the mutated genes, one from both the sire and the dam. Since Rogan is completely clear and not even a carrier, any offspring they have will not be affected by the disease. A more detailed discussion and list of tests are on the Animal Genetics website, with full explanations of each test at the bottom of the page.
Cinnamon is a 9-year-old, dark red Golden Retriever. Clearly she isn't part of our breeding program, but we felt we needed to include a few pictures of her so her feelings don't get hurt. She's the "matriarch" of the pack, and she enjoys teaching our other dogs good manners!
